In every google search of what a person should do when on Vancouver Island Butchart Gardens makes the list. I really don’t have much commentary about gardens or flowers, I have a brown thumb and the plants in my home garden survive under their own ambition to remain alive. What I can say about flowers, in particular, in Canada is that they are in abundance and everywhere. The wildflowers along the road side and in the fields and in the mountains are next level. Even I could grow flowers here, I think….
Butchart Gardens is a love story. A very successful concrete business man took a quarry and provided the labour from his business to bring his wife’s vision of 50 acres of gardens alive. It is something else, a vision of mammoth proportions. The pictures do not do justice but I will share anyway.

Even though I have no gardening instinct or lifestyle, I can totally appreciate the effort in the display we experienced. Do it, listen to the google recommendation, this is worth a happy visit βΊοΈπ
