Wayne and I have a big trip coming up in July. I am counting down the days, literally…

This is the longest amount of time we have taken off consecutively since ‘before children’ 23 year ago. It is also the most we have ever spent on holidays (not a first class kind of budget, but definitely not hitchhiking). And of course, this is also our first overseas trip since the COVID19 pandemic began. Needless to say, the excitement we are feeling is next level.
We are ticking off some bucket list travel dreams as well as catching up with some very important family members. A shiny new niece or nephew as well as a nephew and niece that we have yet to meet in person.
I have planned this holiday meticulously. Checked all the bookings 100 times over, ensured we meet all the new travel rules and pulled out our passports numerous times to check they are indeed valid. Now we are getting to pointy end of the stick, how to deal with the anticipation and anxiety leading up to actually buckling into the first leg of the flights?
It’s too early to pack… or is it? No it is, that is silly! Besides, we need the suitcases for a short stay in a couple weeks. Maybe I can start packing when we get back from that trip… these are the thoughts running through my mind. I need to keep busy, I know that for sure. A distracted mind is what I need to get me there faster!
Planning for a happy travel experience brings all of the feelings! This is the time of our trip that the excitement builds and we just want to go NOW! How do you manage the pre-departure excitement?
